Why Semplice?

Semplice began with a trip back to my parents' hometown of Tocco da Casauria, a small village in the Abruzzo region of Italy.

Every time I return, I'm reminded that life there moves a little differently.

People work incredibly hard, but they also make time to truly live. A morning coffee isn't rushed. Lunch is a reason to gather. Conversations happen in the piazza. Family comes first, and the simple moments are never taken for granted.

The town itself reflects that balance. At times it's quiet and slow, yet when there's something to celebrate, it comes alive. It isn't perfect and that's part of its beauty. Like anywhere, people face challenges, but there's a shared appreciation for making the most of what they have and enjoying the moments that matter.

When I came home, I realised that feeling was something I wanted to hold onto. More than that, I wanted to share it.

That's where 'Semplice' was born.

In Italian, semplice means simple. But to us, it's more than a translation. It's a reminder that life doesn't have to be complicated to be meaningful.

Our first collection is built around five Italian words that capture that way of living:

semplice - simplicity.
piano piano - slowly, little by little.
tranquillo - stay calm.
famiglia - the people who matter most.
dolce far niente - the sweetness of doing nothing.

Each piece is designed to be a quiet reminder of those values.

We deliberately launched with just hats and T-shirts. There were countless ideas for where the brand could begin, but it felt important to stay true to our name. Before expanding into anything else, we wanted to focus on creating a small collection of well-made everyday essentials.

Semplice isn't about chasing trends or filling wardrobes. It's about creating pieces you'll reach for every day—pieces that remind you to slow down, appreciate the people around you, and find joy in life's ordinary moments.
